Baklava Storage

To keep your baklava fresh for as long as possible, store it properly at:
Room temperature: For up to two weeks, store baklava in an airtight container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

Refrigeration: For longer storage of up to three months, refrigerate the baklava in an airtight container. Keep in mind that the phyllo may become chewier, but reheating it will help restore its texture.

Freezing: For the longest shelf life, freeze the baklava in an airtight container for up to six months. Thaw it at room temperature before serving.

How to Refresh Baklava

Baklava may become dry due to the sugar in the syrup crystalizing or due to storing at room temperature for too long. Don't fret! Baklava can be restored to its lusciously delicious state; however the texture may change!

Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F. Place the baklava pieces on a baking sheet. Heat the baklava for about 4-5 minutes, or until the top layers are golden and crispy again. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning. Once the baklava is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Cooling is crucial because it allows the layers to set and prevents them from becoming soggy.
